It’s never too early to get Toasted. Something for everyone. Noticing a problem and creating solutions in the breakfast world. Lattes, booze, 4 egg omelets, limited time specials offered. Understanding the lunch rush and getting guests back to their chair swiftly during the week.

What Do You Think Are Some Challenges that Are Facing this Industry Currently?
Quality of life. I feel this industry is lacking care for their employees. Toasted Yolk makes it a point to not only give quality of life to their managers, but we show we care. We start our day together at 6 am and end it together at 4 pm. Owners Chris and Kelly Milton make it a point to check in on their staff and involve themselves. It’s hard to find that in restaurant owners anymore.

What Are the 3 things that Describe the Toasted Yolk Cafe Experience?
The Toasted Yolk Cafe wants to change the way you think about breakfast and lunch. At the Toasted Yolk Cafe, we sometimes must wonder: What’s so great about dinner? The foods we love best all arrive before 3 pm. Perfectly packed eggs, strip after strip of crunchy bacon, and layer upon layer of thin-sliced turkey and pastrami. These are the delicacies we dream about at night, and they’re the ones we want to wake up to. We couldn’t find them served consistently in a restaurant atmosphere that didn’t put us back to sleep. So, we opened our own.

Our goal is to create lifelong patrons, starting at the youngest with a fantastic reading program. Allowing for a free meal at the end of 5 books completed, now that’s something to celebrate!

Who is Your Biggest Role Model?
In the beginning of my management career, I met at the time seemed like my worst enemy and wanted to constantly pick out not only my flaws but any mistake I made through my trial of learning to manage a restaurant. At the time, I was too young and experienced to realize what he was trying to teach me.
It took a lot of falls to finally look up and see what he had laid out for me all along and that is leadership equals love. You lead and you make the choices you do because you love them. Not because you’re a tyrant, not because you’re above them, not because you have the power, but good leadership rooted in love is able to lead from the front, even though no one else has shown you what’s in front of you.
